With PSG, Marco Asensio resumes light training.
Marco Asensio (27) has returned to light training with PSG
after a month-long sabbatical, according to Le Parisien. Due to a foot injury
he had during Spain's 7-1 triumph over Cyprus during the September
international break, the Spanish international has been sidelined for the past
four weeks.
The injury prevented the former Real Madrid attacking midfielder from representing his
country during the most recent international break. The Spaniard's situation is
now looking more favorable as he has started working with the ball again in
training before making a full recovery to training with the PSG first squad.
Even though he is now training alone, in the next few days he may resume full
training. Since moving to the
Parc des Princes on a free transfer from Real Madrid, Asensio has made an
impression. Luis Enrique, who knows the 27-year-old from the Spanish national
team, has used him in a false nine role, where he has flourished despite missed
time due to injury. In his three appearances for Les Parisiens, Asensio has
assisted one goal and scored two.
