Afghanistan defeated Pakistan by eight wickets during the 2023 Cricket World Cup
I'll say farewell while the Afghan players twirl around the
outfield. Never forget that by giving Afghanistan the chance to develop and
flourish during the past 20 years, this outcome was made possible. Sports that
are popular on a global scale are healthy sports. Keep nights like this in mind
when officials attempt to reduce the size of the international game by going in
the opposite direction.
The game's MVP is Ibrahim Zadran. That power move by Zadran and Gurbaz was as close to flawless as it got. They hit 12 boundaries in the first 10 overs, despite the fact that it appeared from what we saw with Pakistan that it would be difficult to get them with the field repositioned.
Nothing bizarre, just throwing terrible balls away and having confidence in their ability to do
so.Pakistan's campaign is diverse. They lost to India, Australia, and
Afghanistan after winning their first two games. And it doesn't get any
simpler—South Africa is up next. Now that they have a week until their next
match against Sri Lanka, Afghanistan is the only team willing to dare to dream
a little. They are moving around in a lap of honor. Wow.Captain Hashmat scored
the winning runs. removed from his hip for four from Shaheen. By the time the
match was over, neither player had lost a match.
FIRST BEATING OF PAKISTAN BY AFGHANISTAN! They win by eight!
Wow, what a time! Although their victory over England was noteworthy, Afghanistan's first victory over their largest foe is perhaps significantly more impressive. The chase was
clinical and wonderfully set up, and they completed it with one over remaining
and eight wickets in hand. Scenes!49 overs: (Hashmat 48, Rahmat 77) Afghanistan
286-2283, the goal (Rahmat 75, Hashmat 43) Afghanistan 279-2 in the 48th over
283, the goal. Rahmat would never have permitted this to reach the decisive
point! The Afghanistan No. 3 launches Hasan Ali over his head for SIX, a
cross-bat masterpiece. Hasan Ali helped bring Pakistan back. For 12 balls, you
need four. A really precious moment is about to begin.
Hello, Adam. Greetings, Colum Fordham. After crushing England and seeming almost certain to defeat Pakistan while playing excellent cricket, Afghanistan has effectively
shed the label of "minnows." Also, I'm very sorry to learn of the
demise of Bishan Bedi. His skill as a spinner was mentioned in Christopher
Martin Jenkins' outstanding book about England's 1977 tour to India. Later, I
got to witness him bowl in a county match for Northants, and I enjoyed watching
him because of his steady line and slight variations.
As the ODI format comes to an end, this terrible development occurs: The growth of the game and the availability of nights like this are both due to 50-over cricket. Sigh.
Afghanistan was 272-2 in the 47th over (Rahmat 68, Hashmat 43). 283, the goal. Four runs from Edge! With two or three in the cordon, Shaheen around the wicket with Rahmat,
who brings him forward, would have been catchable, but they are not yet
fortunate enough to have that set up. Rahmat continues after it with a charming
little drive out to further cover for two. 11 out of 18 balls are needed, which
is almost single digits. Very close.46th over: Afghanistan 264-2 (Rahmat 61,
Hashmat 42); goal number 283. With these two looking so strong against spin, I
find it hard to believe Usama was requested to bowl this over.
In terms of modern cricket, this isn't a good match-up, even though the dance isn't particularly
attractive and the deflection for four is off his glove. Sure enough, a wide
follows the four runs scored, allowing them to flip the field over twice and
take twos. Shaheen will now need to do something extraordinary.
"Good day, Mr.
Collins!" I'm Adam Hirst, sir. Have I not now heard you giggling at the
absurd notion of England ranking last worldwide?
Blimey! And so it is. Or it will be in a little
over 20 minutes. What a tale.
Afghanistan 253-2
in the 45th over (Rahmat 58, Hashmat 35). 283, the goal. Shaheen Shah Afridi,
the sole Pakistani player on the field, has the ability to change the game by
taking two or three wickets in an over. However, they haven't allowed the
left-armer work them over like they have the entire night; instead, they've
always tried to get singles off of him. Babar hasn't backed up sufficiently, so
the ping at the stumps hurts them. This leads to another misfield. Five off is
fine for Afghanistan at this point because a run-a-ball after five overs is
standard T20 fare.
(Rahmat 56, Hashmat
32) in the 44th over: Afghanistan 248-2 283, the goal. Haris rather than
Shaheen is being saved till the very end; this is a major assumption given how
teams pursue in the modern era in an effort to prevent the pandemonium that
would result from a 50th over. Haris must, however, strike a few stumps. Paul
Reiffel is requesting a caught behind down the legside that isn't out. A sound
is heard. They don't want to take a chance on ruining the final evaluation,
therefore Babar is wise to disregard Rizwan this time - off thigh pad. It was
described as a large but little technological loophole. Without a doubt, the
final wide is too high on the bumper and was called correctly.
