The singer-songwriter of "My Church" posted a brief video on her
Instagram Story of her and her divorced husband Hurd, together with their

trick-or-treating. As he bowed down for the picture, the "Pass it On"
singer grinned broadly and took his son's other hand in his.The picture was
taken a few weeks after Hurd and Morris' Oct. 2 divorce filing. The couple, who

felt "very, very distanced" from the business and its politics. Hurd
supported Morris on Instagram in the month before the singer filed for divorce.
Hurd remarked at the time, "She deserves to be celebrated, not just tolerated."
"She deserves a little sunshine for the burden she has carried for every
artist and fan that feels the same way."
"I can't wait for that first tour and to see all of the beautiful, happy people who need HER
and these songs," he continued. I adore you, MM. Continue on, folks.
Though they didn't begin dating until December 2015, the couple met in 2013. The couple had only been "friends for a couple of years, but there was always this writing
chemistry in the room," Morris said to PEOPLE in 2017. Eventually, their
friendship developed.
They got engaged the year after making their formal red carpet debut as a couple at the 2016 CMT Music Awards. They wrote their own vows in a bar before to the event, and they
were married in March 2018 at The Cordelle in Nashville.Hurd told PEOPLE that
the birth of their baby changed their priorities after they released their
first duet, "Chasing After You," which led to a Grammy nomination.

stuff is always going to be first."
